In the night cap the Mustangs came from behind to beat their opponent from Philadelphia by a score of 4 - 3. The Mustangs found themselves down early 2 - 0 and battled back to overcome poor officiating as well as some running miscues and fielding and throwing errors.
Timely hitting by Scott McGough and Anthony DeFabio enabled the Mustangs to come from behind in the bottom of the seventh on a passed ball to win the game.
David Weifenbaugh turned in as fine a pitching performance as I have seen for 7 innings especially coming off of reconstructive surgery of his shoulder.
The Mustangs will have some practice time the remainder of their time here followed by some well earned r & r. Their record is now 4 - 1 on the season.
In the first game of today's double header the Mustangs Nick'd their opponent from New Jersey. In a combined pitching performance by Nic Manupelli and Nick Ferracano the boy's came out on top 12 - 9.
There was plenty of offense generated by all and led by Anthony DeFabio who went three for three with a solo homerun. CJ Stotler, Michael Wallace, David Weifenbaugh and numerous others also added a couple of hits. A good defensive performance was given by Tommy Messich as well.
Greetings from Sunny Florida.
